Moldovan students in Cluj celebrate Union Day
Moldovan students studying in Cluj, who are members of the Bessarabian Initiative Group, are holding the sixth festival “Bessarabia” dedicated to the Union of Bessarabia with Romania. The festival starts today, March 27, and continues until Sunday evening.
According to coordinators, the day of March 27 is marked with the aim of remembering the union act and informing the Cluj community about the cultural trends in Moldova.
“Through this festival, we want to familiarize the general public in Cluj with the specific cultural traditions and values of the Bessarabian space and highlight the importance of the act carried out by our ancestors,” Nicu Leva, the president of the Bessarabian Initiative Group, has told Info-Prim Neo.
The festival includes book launches, film screenings and conferences on the current events happening in Moldova. There will be also held sports competitions and NGO fairs designed to promote the managerial spirit among young people.
The festival in Cluj was organized with the help of the local authorities and sponsors.
About 15,000 people are projected to take part in the festival’s activities.
