Moldovan students awarded five medals at Balkan Math Olympiad
Students from Moldova have won five medals at the Balkan Mathematical Olympiad that was held in a Serbian town between April 28 and May 4, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from the Ministry of Education and Youth.
Moldova’s team was composed of six students and two teachers.
The eleventh grader of the Chisinau theoretical high school “Orizont” Andrei Iliashenko won a gold medal, while Andrei Ivanov, ninth grader at the same school, won silver.
Another two students of “Orizont”, Ion Guzun and Alexei Zubarev from the tenth grade, were awarded bronze. Iulian Gramatski, a tenth grader at the Chisinau theoretical high school “Prometeu-Prim”, also won bronze.
As many as 115 students from 19 countries took part in the 26th Balkan Mathematical Olympiad.
