Moldovan-Romanian military cooperation agreement to be amended

The Moldovan and Romanian service members will be able to jointly take part in multinational military exercises and training, with units or subunits of other partner states, IPN reports, quoting an informative note to the bill registered in Parliament.

The amendments made to the agreement between the Government of Moldova and the Government of Romania concerning cooperation in the military sector specifies that the host countries will ensure free accommodation and food for service members and civilians who take part in exercises and will be able to take part in joint military drills together with other states. The ministries and the Parliament’s commission on foreign policy and European integration approved the amendment protocol.

The Republic of Moldova signed a military cooperation agreement with Romania in 2012. A number of joint exercises have been staged based on this.
