Moldovan rescuers on way home from Turkey

The Moldovan rescuers completed their mission in Turkey where they contributed to the rescue efforts following the devastating earthquakes. They managed to save a boy aged three who had stayed under the ruble for over four days, IPN reports.

The urban search and rescue team consisted of 55 rescuers, two search dogs and 12 fully-autonomous rescue vehicles. The Moldovan specialists also performed building assessment and recovery works.

On Wednesday evening, the column of 12 vehicles left the Operations Center and the quake-hit region Hatay. The Moldovan rescuers are expected to get to Moldova on February 17-18.

The death toll from the earthquakes that struck Turkey and Syria passed 41,000.
