Moldovan Pottery Fair to be held in Nisporeni district
Moldovan potters will display their work and compete in the 23rd Pottery Fair that will take place on Sunday, September 11, in Iurceni village, Nisporeni district.
Vera Mucu, head of the Culture Division of the Nisporeni District Council, told Info-Prim Neo that the most renowned potters from Moldova and Romania would exhibit their works at the fair. “This year, well-known craftsmen from Calarasi, Nisporeni, Edinet, Cantemir, Drochia, Chisinau and Balti will participate in the event. We are happy to have guests from Botosani and Iasi. The most prestigious distinction of the fair is the Ion Arseni Award, which will be handed to a famous potter aged 101”, said Vera Mucu.
According to her, the Fair’s goal is to make the most of the best potters’ works and to promote this precious craft.
The visitors of the Fair will be offered a show of fiddler music, and will get the chance to visit the beautiful surroundings of Iurceni and buy some of the potter’s products.
The Fair is organized by the Iurceni Mayor's Office in partnership with the Culture Division of the Nisporeni District Council.
