Business Consulting Institute and the Polish foundation PAUCI announced the completion of a joint project implemented with the financial support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Poland in 25 districts of Moldova. The project, launched this April, contributed to the preparation of the local public administration and civil society of Moldova for efficiently using the European funds.
The project was intended for specialists of the local administration and nongovernmental organizations. The specialists took part in two training courses on project management, which were followed by two fact-finding visits to Poland, IPN reports.
The participants in the two visits learned from Poland’s experience in implementing crossborder cooperation projects. As a result of the project activities, there were worked out seven cooperation projects. The designed projects were of a better quality. Another direct result obtained is the enhanced participation of the local public administration and NGOs in the Crossborder Program.
In the conference held to mark the completion of the project, Business Consulting Institute executive director Veaceslav Negruta said that after Moldova initialed the Association Agreement with the EU, which is a very important document, the experience of the European partners will help the Moldovans to attract European funds and to implement crossborder programs.
Veaceslav Negruta also said that Poland achieved the most significant results in attracting and using European funds.
Within the project, there were trained 51 representatives of the local public administration, while 24 participants in the project paid two-fact finding visits to Poland.
