Head of Parliament Marian Lupu said that the relations between Moldova and Poland are strategic in character, both at bilateral level and within the European integration dimension. He made related statements in a meeting with the Polish Senate Marshal Bogdan Borusewicz, who is in Moldova on a two-day official visit, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the legislative body. Marian Lupu said that the inter-parliamentary cooperation between the two countries develops steadily, a proof being the fact that Poland is the only country with which Moldova created a very useful dialogue platform – the Poland – Moldova Parliamentary Assembly. Bogdan Borusewicz approved of the cooperation relations between Moldova and Poland and pleaded for strengthening and diversifying them. Bogdan Borusewicz came to Chisinau accompanied by a large delegation of members of the Polish Senate and Sejm to take part in the opening of the meeting of the Poland – Moldova Parliamentary Assembly at the Palace of the Republic on March 11. The delegation also includes a group of 15 representatives of the local public authorities of Polish provinces. On the first day of the visit, the Polish delegation visited Starcea village of Glodeni district, where they were met by locals. In the village, they visited the Polish House and the local museum that contains data about the life of the Polish community in Moldova and about the joint historical park of this community and the Moldovans.
