Moldovan PM to pay official visit to Croatia

The Moldovan prime-minister will pay an official visit to Croatia on October 23-24. The agenda of the visit includes meetings with his Croatian counter-part Ivo Sanader, with the president of the country, Stjepan Mesic, as well as with the Croatian speaker of the Parliament, Vladimir Secs. As well, it is planned to sign the Collaboration Agreement between Moldova and Croatia in the field of culture. Vasile Tarlev will discuss with the Croatian side some aspects of the economic collaboration in tourism. In this respect, meetings with Branko Vukelic, minister of Economy, Labor and Entrepreneurship, as well as with Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, are planned. Until now, Croatian and Moldovan authorities signed 11 bilateral treaties, such as the Agreement on Trade and Economic Collaboration, the Free Trade Agreement, the Memorandum between the Croatian Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure of Moldova. Another 6 agreements are in process of negotiation. At the same time, the heads of those two countries signed a joint declaration through which they reiterated their European aspirations, attachment to the democratic values and to the ones of the market economy, the engagements of Moldova and Croatia to align national legislations referring to the free movement of persons, goods and services with the principles and norms of the European Union.
