Moldovan players score in Russian championship
Moldovan players Igor Armas and Alexandru Gatcan scored a goal each in the 42nd round of the Russian championship on Wednesday, May 2, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Armas’ goal won Kuban Krasnodar a point in a home draw 2-2 with Anzhi Makhachkala. This was the 24 year old’s first goal of the season. Kuban sit 8th in the table and will miss participation in European cups.
Gatcan scored his fourth of the season as his team FC Rostov drew 2-2 away at Spartak Nalchik. Rostov occupy the 12th place.
Meanwhile, other players from Moldova featured as well. Igor Lambarschi played nearly the full match and Igor Picusciac the last 30 minutes for FC Krasnodar, which also managed a 2-2 draw with Amkar Perm and secured the 9th place.
Alexandru Epureanu warmed the bench for Dynamo Moscow in a 1-1 draw with city rivals Spartak. With two matches to play, Dynamo can finish second, which will offer the team the chance to play in the Champions League.
Title-holders Zenit Sankt Petersburg retained the championship.
