The citizens of the Republic of Moldova who live outside the country could get an old age pension. Parliament adopted a legislative initiative that allows for this after giving it a second reading on November 22, IPN reports.
Once in 12 months, the recipient will have to submit a life certificate to the National House of Social Insurance (CNAS). This will be completed and signed at Moldova’s embassy or consular office in the country where the person lives or at the local subdivisions of the CNAS in Moldova.
According to bill author, Democratic MP Valentina Buliga, Moldova signed social insurance agreements with 12 countries, namely Romania, Austria, Poland, Bulgaria, Luxemburg, Czech Republic, Belgium, Portugal, Germany, Turkey, Lithuania, and Latvia.
The law will take effect on January 1, 2019.
