Moldovan parliamentary delegation on visit to South Africa

A delegation of the Moldovan Parliament is taking part in the World e-Parliament Conference that is held in Johannesburg, South Africa, on October 21-22. Over 400 invitees from all over the world are expected at the conference that will center on the modernization of the legislative work and participation in decision-making, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Parliament. There will be also discussed subjects related to governance in the period of technological changes, creation of parliamentary libraries on the basis of information technology, archiving of parliamentary documents in multiple formats, websites for transparency and responsibility, etc. The participants will exchange opinions on the new information and communication technologies that can be used as instruments for strengthening the representative, legislative and control functions of the regional and national assemblies. The World e-Parliament Conference is organized annually by the Office for Promotion of Parliamentary Democracy of the European Parliament, the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs and the Interparliamentary Union. Last year, it was held in Washington. The Moldovan delegation is headed by the director general of the Parliament's Apparatus Adrian Fetescu.
