Moldovan officials to visit European institutions

Prime Minister Vlad Filat will be making a working visit to the European institutions between September 29 and 30. He will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Iurie Leanca. The composition of this small delegation was approved by the Government on September 25, Info-Prim Neo reports. The visit will have three components and includes meetings between the Moldovan Premier and his Belgian counterpart and the Foreign Minister of Belgium, with the president of the European Commission, with four European Commissioners and other officials of the European Commission, who play an important role in making decisions at regional level, including in the case of Moldova. Meetings will be also held at the European Parliament, the Foreign Policy Commission and the Interparliamentary Committee. “This visit will allow analyzing the present relations between Moldova and the European institutions and presenting the objectives that Moldova wants to achieve with the assistance of these institutions. They will tell us about their intentions as well,” Iurie Leanca said. The delegation will not have bodyguards and will not be accompanied by cameramen. As Filat said, “they will protect each other.”
