Moldovan MPs on working visit to Lithuania
A delegation consisting of 12 Moldovan MPs headed by Deputy Speaker Iurie Tap will be paying a working visit to Lithuania during April 19-22. The delegation comprises lawmakers from all the five parliamentary groups, including unaffiliated MPs, the Parliament’s press service informs, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
The visit forms part of the Parliamentary Training Program implemented by the Lithuanian Seimas in cooperation with the Vilnius International Republican Institute. The training courses are given by Lithuanian MPs, public servants and experts in law and European integration.
The program will include three training cycles in 2010 for about 60 Moldovan lawmakers. It aims to improve the administrative and legislative capacity, help prepare for the talks with the EU and promote interparliamentary cooperation.
The first training cycle focuses on the parliamentary work within coalition, coordination of the internal polices and management of the legislative body’s work, parliamentary control and cooperation with the Government, etc.
While in Vilnius, the Moldovan MPs will have a series of meetings with the administration of the Seimas, chairpersons of parliamentary commissions and other officials.
