Moldovan military men participate in two large-scale exercises
About 500 military men of the National Army (NA), Border Guards Service, Carabineers Troops and Emergency Situations Department participate in the exercise “Sub Cer Senin-2007”, which is being held from April 23 to May 8, at Bulboaca shooting range, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the exercises’ leader, colonel Andrei Marinov, commander of “Stefan cel Mare” Brigade, the aim of the exercise is to improve the interoperability of staffs of the Armed Forces for conducting a joint operation, following modern military standards, testing the general staffs of commandments in the process of planning and commanding the troops.
”Sub Cer Senin” exercise is a follow-up of the “Turn-2007” exercise that was held in April. The concept of exercises was drawn up according to the methodology of multinational peacekeeping exercise “Cooperative Lancer-Longbow”, which was organized in Moldova in autumn 2006.
At the same time, a group of officers of the Blue Helmets Battalion participate from April 24 to May 11 in multinational exercise “Combined Endeavor-2007” for military communicators, held in Germany, Baumholder.
The aim of this exercise is to reach a high level of operative, technical and software compatibility between the multinational contingents involved in a humanitarian or peacekeeping mission.
About 1200 military men from 43 NATO member countries and signers of programme “Partnership for Peace” take part in this exercise. Moldovan officers have been participating in this exercise since 1999.
