Moldovan militaries participate at peace-keeping trainings in Ukraine
A team of the National Army’s infantrymen is trained in peace-keeping applications in Ukraine. The military exercise “South-2006” will take place during August 14-18, at the shooting grounds Shirokii Lan, Nicolaev region.
According to the head J7 troops of the General Staff’s Instruction Department, Colonel Petru Boico, the National Army participates in the Moldovan-Ukrainian applications with a contingent of 31 militaries from “Moldova” brigade, shifted in Balti municipality, and a group of instructors.
The militaries of the two armies will train in organizing and performing joint humanitarian operations in an improvised conflict zone. Trainings will include organizing service at the control spot, patrolling, providing first medical aid etc.
The first exercise of this type with the participation of Moldovan and Ukrainians took place in 1998 at the Shirokii Lan shooting grounds. Last year, the host of “North-2005” applications was the National Army of Moldova and they were organized at the instructions center of “Moldova” infantry from Balti municipality.
