Fourteen maternity hospitals received medical equipment offered as part of the second phase of the Moldovan-Swiss project “Modernizing Moldovan Perinatology System in 2008 – 2011” supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Health, the equipment is designed to improve the quality of perinatal medical services at the given institutions. The modern equipment was offered to the Mother and Child Health Care Research Institute and the Perinatology Centers in Chisinau, Balti and Cahul, and to 10 maternity hospitals in the districts of Briceni, Glodeni, Sangerei, Telenesti, Nisporeni, Calarasi, Anenii-Noi, Cantemir, Comrat and Rezina.
