Moldovan lyceums will be provided with educational software next year too

50 lyceums in Moldova were provided this year with educational software for four study subjects as part of a pilot-project, said Minister of Education and Youth Victor Tvircun during a meeting at the Presidency. The minister mentioned that the next year foresees a continuation of the project, set within the framework of various measures for reaching the goals set in the National Programme “Moldovan Village” concerning every child’s access to education and instruction in rural areas. President Vladimir Voronin mentioned the importance of a wide implementation of educational software in Moldovan schools. The President also emphasised the need for identifying a source for invigorating the recovery process of pre-school and pre-university institutions, of houses of culture and libraries located in rural areas. According to Victor Tvircun, the past three years have seen an increase in the number of pre-school institutions from 1100 to 1356 units; for the first time in the last 15 years kindergartens were provided with didactic materials, fiction literature and toys. In addition, for the first time in the last 20 years the pre-university institutions were provided with equipment for all study subjects. All Moldovan lyceums are currently connected to Internet and have computer labs open for the pupils, said Victor Tvircun.
