Three Moldovan judokas competed in the Junior European Judo Championships that are held in Bulgaria’s Sofia City, IPN reports.
Ion Nacu and Adil Osmanov scored by a victory, while Victor Șterpu was eliminated after the first fight. Nacu competed in the 73 kg weight class, beating the representative of the host country Georgi Gramatikov, but losing to Poland’s Cezary Tchorzewski, who finished third. In the same class, Șterpu was defeated by Russia’s Khamzat Akhmarov.
In the 60 kg class, Osmanov won against Ukraine’s Dmytro Borodin, but then lost to the future champion Tofig Mammadov of Azerbaijan.
