The Moldovan athletes made a bad start at the European Judo Championships in Vienna. In the first fights of the preliminary round, Octavian Nacu and Victor Scvortsov beat Bulgaria's Ianislav Gercev and Portugal's Diogo Cesar, but were defeated then by Armenia's Hovanes Davtian and France's Loic Korval and were knocked out.
