Moldovan judges to exchange experience with Dutch judges

Moldovan judges will exchange experience with Dutch judges through cooperation programs based on the peer-to-peer principle. The issue was discussed by Deputy Ministers of Justice Sabina Cerbu and Nicolae Esanu with Dutch Ambassador in Bucharest Matthijs van Bonzel and Dutch Council in Chisinau Robert de Groof, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué from the Ministry of Justice.

In the meeting, the officials discussed the prospects of the cooperation between Moldova and the Netherlands in continuing the reforms in the justice sector. The diplomats said the Netherlands is ready to provide the necessary assistance in this respect.

Ambassador Matthijs van Bonzel proposed working out a common project for achieving specific objectives defined in the justice sector reform strategy, namely the exchange of experience between judges. This would enable to learn good international practices in ensuring correct and fair justice. Every side is to submit proposals concerning the method of implementing the project.

Two weeks ago, Moldova inaugurated an Honorific Consulate in Amsterdam.
