„We have to fight against terrorism wherever it happens, as well as fascism, and anti-Semitism. Today Israel has to defend itself from Hezbollah, one of the main terrorist organizations of the world, but concomitantly it fights for its independence and peace in the world,” the renowned Moldovan businessman Iacov Tihman, chairman of the Association of the Jewish Community, stated this at the meeting showing solidarity with Israel. The event was held on Sunday, 23 July, at the Israelite Culture Center KEDEM, where leaders and representatives of the local Jewish organizations, ex-victims of the Nazism, and veterans of the World War II, officials of the Israeli Consulate, as well as relatives and friends of those who live in Israel participated in. Ala Osmeanskaia, Secretary of the Embassy of Israel to Ukraine and Moldova, noted that such meetings help a lot her country in these very difficult moments and she is grateful to organizers and participants, who supported the final declaration, which is to be presented to the office of the Israeli Prime Minister. Alex Lvovski, manager of the Israeli Association Sohnut, highlighted that the meeting shows once again the solidarity of the Jews of Moldova with those of Israel. According to him, the action has a special role in the context of other thousands of similar events in the world and notes that Israel has to win, not only for its sake, but in the name of the democracy. The declaration adopted at the meeting says: „We are revolted by the antihuman actions towards the military hostages, by the bombing of the districts and places of establishment of Israeli people, by the anti-Israel challenges and propaganda in mass media. We show our solidarity with the Israelite nation, we support its fight against terrorism and extremism, we mourn those who have died and we believe that the justice and humanism will win”. .
