Moldovan, Hungarian border guards to cooperate
The Border Guards (BG) of Moldova and the Boarder Guard Service of Hungary signed a cooperation Protocol, aiming at strengthening the legal cooperation framework between the two structures. The document was signed at the XV plenary session of the International Frontier Conference, which took place recently in the Hungarian town of Balotonalmadi.
The director-general of the BG and the director-executive of the European Agency for the Management of Operational Cooperation at the external borders of EU (FRONTEX) met during the conference. They discussed the prospects of the bilateral cooperation with a view to stopping the cross-border organised crime, illegal migration, as a well as other illegal activities at the border.
The parties agreed to establish collaboration relations, including determining its legal character.
The heads of several institutions in charge of border control and supervision, as well as of the specialised international organisations, participated in the XV plenary session of the International Frontier Conference.
