Moldovan Government prepares for second round of talks on Association Agreement with EU
“The negotiations on the Association Agreement between the EU and the Republic of Moldova are following a normal and logical course”, said Deputy Foreign Minister Natalia Gherman, Moldova's chief negotiator in the talks, at the meeting of the Governmental Commission for European Integration on Thursday, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In expectation of the second round of negotiations on the Agreement, which is to take place in Brussels on March 25-26, Natalia Gherman said the negotiation team is preparing intensely. The group consists of 60 representatives from all the ministries, agencies and services, divided into 4 sectoral subgroups.
“From January 12, when the first round of negotiations took place, and until present we have been in a dynamic regime of interaction with our European partners”, said Natalia Gherman.
The greatest progress, according to her, was made by the subgroup responsible for inter-human contacts. Considerable progress was also made by the subgroup responsible for economic matters, whose main aim is to launch in the course of this year talks on a comprehensive Free Trade Agreement with the EU.
