Moldovan Government covers the fact that Romania arranged financing for retransmission of TVR1

The Government of Romania announced back in early June the Moldovan authorities that it found the necessary financing sources for the retransmission of the TVR1 channel in Moldovan air. The Ministry of Informational Development (MDI) however misinformed the Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC), saying that the official Bucharest didn’t find the money yet, Info-Prim Neo learned from BCC chair Vlad Turcanu. The head of the MDI’s Radio-communication Department, Andrei Nemteanu, could not be found that afternoon to comment on the statement. Previously he stated that TVR has not paid the service fees to the Radio-communication state enterprise starting June 15, 2007. BCC decided to auction the state-owned network no.2 that relays the Romanian channel. BCC chair said that once the information about the money arrangements is proved true, BCC will reconsider the decision to sell the relay. The Romanian Television Corporation (SRTV) confirmed to Info-Prim Neo that the Government of Romania has located the financing sources and officially informed the authorities in Chisinau about that. According to the Foreign Relations Department of TVR1, after the completion of talks between the two governments and the settlement of the payment problem a new Relaying Protocol will be signed. The protocol is expected to retroactively cover the debts as well.
