A resident of Chisinau and a man native of Russia were sentenced to 15 years and, respectively, 25 years for trafficking in children for sexual exploitation, IPN reports.
According to the Prosecutor General’s Office, in the summer of 2010 the culprits recruited a minor aged 13 to provide sexual services to a citizen from the U.S. As a result, the minor was sexually exploited in an apartment in Chisinau, with the culprits being paid for these services.
The men aged 22 and 47 were earlier tried for similar offences. The sentence can be appealed to a higher court.
The citizen for which the minor provided sexual services is investigated by the U.S. authorities based on the materials furnished by the Moldovan prosecutors
