Moldovan-German partnership for increasing efficiency of National Employers Confederation

The National Employers Confederation of Moldova was included in a program of cooperation that involves a number of German partners. The project is implemented with the support of the association “Eurochambres” within the East-Invest II Program. The goal of the project is to increase the relevance of the National Employers Confederation by working out a development strategy, with emphasis on services, and by implementing new services, IPN reports.

The first event of the project was staged on February 8-12, when the representative of SEQUA gGmbH Anastasia Thulke and the representative of Bildungswerk der Wirtschaft Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Henry Zimmermann had been on a working visit to Chisinau, where there were identified the Confederation’s main development directions and top priorities, especially aspects of the implementation of services provided to members.

Another event was mounted on April 3-8, when a team of the Confederation paid a working visit to Germany. The purpose of the visit was to help the Confederation work out the services development strategy. In this connection, the partners from Moldova were familiarized with the structure of employers and business organizations and of the chambers of trade of Germany. Visits were made to the head offices of the national, sector and regional employers organizations and to the Chamber of Trade of Schwerin.

A meeting was staged in the Parliament Building of Mecklenburg Western Pomerania, where the Confederation’s team disused the relations between Moldova and Germany with the Parliament’s Head Sylvia Bretschneider.

On May 23-27, Henry Zimmermann made a working visit to Chisinau. Special emphasis was placed on the services development strategy of the National Employers Confederation of Moldova. In this connection, the Confederation’s team and Henry Zimmermann discussed the existent services, trying to identify the advantages and disadvantages and the prospects of improving and promoting these as well as opportunities of implementing new services.

“The experience of the German partners is a very valuable one and will undoubtedly contribute to increasing the capacities and improving the image of the National Employers Confederation as a social partner at national level,” said the Confederation’s project director Iulia Drumea.

Currently, the National Employers Confederation is taking part in a training course centering on the assessment of the impact on the environment for companies. The goal of the course is to familiarize the Confederation with the environment legislation so that it could later offer assistance to members and could more efficiently promote their interests and rights in the given area.
