Moldovan film-maker Valeriu Jereghi becomes academician

The film-maker Valeriu Jereghi, a member of the Cinema Unions of Moldova and Russia, has been awarded the title of academician of the TV and Film Eurasian Academy. The decision was made in Moscow by the Academy's presidium on August 12, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Academy's vice chairman, Valery Ruzin, has said Jereghi's merits in cinematography are significant, as he has produced features, documentaries created in studios in Moldova, Russia, Germany, France, Romania, awarded at international film festivals. The presidium made up from movie-makers and TV people from Russia, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Georgia unanimously voted to confer the title of an academician to the Moldovan director. Valery Ruzin offered Valeriu Jereghi to lead the Moldovan office of the Academy. The Academy has opened representations in Moscow and Nizhni-Novgorod (Russia), Kiev (Ukraine), Minsk (Belarus), Alm-Aty (Kazakhstan), Sofia (Bulgaria).
