The Moldovan embassy in Bucharest is doing its best to promote Moldovan products in Romania, but Moldovan farmers mustn't forget that Romania is an European country. The statement was made by ambassador Iurie Renita at a talk-show on Radio Moldova, IPN reports.
“When we talk about the Romanian market, we also talk about the EU market. The Romanian market follows the requirements and standards of the European one. It's fairly accessible for Moldovan farmers if they meet the EU quality standards”, explained the diplomat.
Iurie Renita said that the embassy organizes fairs and exhibitions for Moldovan manufacturers to promote their products in Romania and has the support of the authorities in Bucharest, who are always willing to help Moldova. “Romania did the most for the abolition of the visa regime and for the signing of the Association and Free Trade Agreements. They are still willing to help”, he said.
The ambassador added that the diplomatic mission is also promoting Moldova's image via other diplomatic missions in Romania, through such events as the reception held when the EU Association Agreement was signed. Particularly, the Japanese Embassy in Bucharest helped organize the upcoming visit of a delegation of Japanese businessmen in Chisinau.
Questioned about the Transnistrian issue, Renita answered that “the new geopolitical context that is taking form creates a real premise for the settlement of the Transnistrian conflict”.
Concerning Moldova's accession to the EU, the ambassador said that “this must be an irreversible process, although it's hard, because we must admit that the requirements from 10 years ago have doubled or tripled”.
