Moldovan elections may be considered valid
The Moldovan snap elections for the parliament may be considered as valid. By 3 pm, over 35% of the citizens entitled to vote did already cast ballots, Info-Prim Neo learns from the Central Election Commission (CEC). At the April 5 elections, as many as 43.05% of voters had cast ballots.
The most active are the voters from the districts of Basarabeasca, Donduseni, Ocnita and Taraclia, with turnouts of 54.5%, 49.1%, 48.7% and 46.7 %, respectively.
The lowest turnouts were in Balti and Soroca – 35.7% and 35.1%. In the Gagauz Autonomy, the turnout was 35.9%.
By that time, in Chisinau, the turnout was 40.6%, more than on April 5 when there had come 39.97% of the registered voters.
1/3 of voters must cast ballots in order to recognize the elections as valid.
