The Moldovan Embassy in Bulgaria took part on Sunday, November 30, in the traditional Christmas fair, organized for charity purposes by the International Women's Club of Sofia (IWCS). The money collected are meant for helping the children from Bulgaria, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the diplomatic mission, the following products were sold at the fair: “Vismos,” “Milestii Mici,””„Bascalia,” “Aroma,” “Stauceni”, “Bucuria,” “Covoare Ungheni,” “Viorica-Cosmetic,” philately stamps offered by “Poşta Moldovei”. The diplomats’ wives, as other Moldovan women from Sofia, asked by the diplomatic mission to contribute to promoting the country’s image, prepared gastronomical specialties specific to different areas from Moldova. The prepared stocks had been sold before the fair ended, though the prices were higher than their commercial value in Moldova. IWCS Club has collected 940 Bulgarian leva (about 500 euros), that will be used to help the Bulgarian children with different health and social problems. A similar charity action “Winter Bazaar” is organized annually in Chisinau as well, by the International Women's Club of Moldova (IWCM). Over USD 9,000 were raised at the 11th edition, December 2007. This sum was donated for supporting the Organization of Women and Children of Moldova.
