A citizen of the Republic of Moldova who was diagnosed with COVID-19 in Romania was taken by an ambulance of the Cahul emergency medical service from the Giurgiulești border crossing point, IPN has learned from the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection.

The patient was transported to the Infectious Diseases Hospital “Toma Ciorbă” of Chisinau.

According to the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control, 167,414 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed globally by March 16. The death toll rose to 6,507. Moldova has got 29 confirmed cases of infection with the novel coronavirus so far.
