Moldovan delegation to JCC calls on Tiraspol to ensure free movement of people

Moldova’s delegation to the Joint Control Commission (JCC) called upon representatives of Tiraspol to immediately take measures and ensure the free movement of people. The subject was discussed in a recent meeting of the Commission, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué of the Reintegration Office, Moldova’s delegation reiterated that the Transnistrian security forces, unilaterally and without informing the JCC, continue to illegally arrest employees of the Moldovan law enforcement bodies and local authorities and to hinder their movement in the Security Zone.

The delegation informed about an incident, saying Moldova’s Deputy Minister of Education Liliana Nicolaescu-Onofrei was hampered by the Transnistrian forces from taking part in the school year end festivities at the Rybnitsa Theoretical Lyceum “Evrika” and in the festivities held to celebrate 25 years of the foundation of the school.

The Moldovan delegation considers that such hostile acts are aimed at worsening the situation in the Security Zone and requested the representatives of Tiraspol to immediately take measures and ensure the free movement of all the categories of people.
