Moldovan Cristina Terentiev wins first prize of International Ballet Festival in Istanbul

Cristina Terentiev of Moldova was ranked first in the senior category while Davida Dato of Italy came on the first place in the junior category in the First International Istanbul Ballet Competition. Kadir Okurer of Turkey has won the "Istanbul Grand Prix Award", Info-Prim Neo has learnt from Turkish media. Ballets and ballerinas from Turkey, Moldova, Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, Japan and Italy participated in the competition. Dancers will be given their awards at a gala night to be held in Istanbul on Saturday. Vladimir Vasiliev, former director of the Bolshoi Theatre and his wife Ekaterina Maximova, prima ballerina of the Bolshoi will be the honorary guests of the night. The competition will be held once every two years, and it will help promotion of Turkish ballet, which has only a 60-year story, in the world. Cristina Terentiev got the Grand Prix in the International Ballet Contest in Vienna in April, 2007, and the golden medal in the International Ballet Festival from Varna (Bulgaria) in July, 2008.
