Criminologists from Moldova will receive training within a project that was launched in Chisinau on February 12. The project forms part of the MATRA Rule of Law and Good Governance Program, IPN reports.
The Center for Human Rights of Moldova will implement the project in concert with the Netherlands Forensic Institute and the National Council of Legal Experts and Performance Specialists of Moldova, with financial support from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.
The project includes three training courses. The first course – Introduction into the value of forensic expertise in the criminal justice systems – will take place on February 12-13 and is intended for specialists from the criminal justice system, including criminologists.
The lectures will be given by Doctor Anick M. van de Craats, deputy director of the Staff Training Academy of the Netherlands Forensic Institute and senior consultant in legal expertise, and Wim Neuteboom and Cor Petiet, Dutch forensic experts. The training seminars will be attended by lawyers, prosecutors, police officers, criminal justice specialists and employees of the National Anticorruption Center.
