Moldovan commercial banks are not affected because of the restrictions on wines export

The commercial banks of the Republic of Moldova are not affected by the restrictions imposed by the Russian Federation on wine exports, the Governor of the National Bank of Moldova, Leonid Talmaci declared, at a work conference of the president Vladimir Vornin with the heads of commercial banks and decision-making bodies within the Government. According to Talmaci, the credits offered by the commercial banks to the wine-making area constitute only 8% of their assets or only 14% of the total amount of offered credits. According to him, distributing the credits in the field is favorable: to extending production 20% of all credits are offered and to the circulating resources – 80 %. On their turn, the presidents of the banks confirmed that on the whole, the situation in the field, as well as within the banks is calm. At the same time they pleaded for the elaboration of enterprises’ development strategies and of the banks’ supporting directions for the wine-making area. Vladimir Voronin asked the Prime-minister Vasile Tarlev, the head of “Moldova-Vina” Agency, Valeriu Mironescu and the heads of commercial banks to pay attention to the process of expanding and improving the quality of vineyards and recommended to the Governmental decision-making authorities, the heads of the wine-making enterprises, as well as to the heads of commercial banks to organize a series of individual bilateral meetings which would involve the shareholders of the banks, in order to elaborate priorities and some coordinated standpoints for the future.
