Moldovan cognacs rejected by “Rospotrebnadzor”

Russia’s Food Safety Body “Rospotrebnadzor” blocked a consignment of over 24,000 bottles of cognac “Barza Alba” that is made by the company “Aroma”, arguing that they do not meet the sanitary norms. The announcement was published on the official website of the Russian body.

According to “Rospotrebnadzor”, four consignments of Moldovan alcoholic products have been recently blocked access to the Russian market because they didn’t meet the sanitary norms. The body says the Moldovan authorities didn’t take the previous warnings seriously and this can lead to a repeat of the situation of 2006.

Moldova’s exports of alcoholic beverages to Russia so far this year totaled 24.8 million liters.
