Moldovan citizens with Romanian passports expected to vote, two days before polls

Romanian citizens are invited to the polls to vote in the parliamentary elections. Citizens from the diaspora, including from the Republic of Moldova, will have the opportunity to vote for two days: November 30 and December 1, between 07.00 and 21.00, IPN reports.

According to the Romanian Embassy in Chisinau, Romanian citizens from the Republic of Moldova can vote in the 59 polling stations open throughout the country. There will be 16 polling stations in Chisinau, two each in Balti, Orhei and Cahul.

Romanian citizens wishing to vote in the elections for the Romanian Parliament must prove their residence abroad with a valid document of the state of residence and present one of several valid Romanian identity documents. These are: identity card, electronic identity card, provisional identity card, identity card, diplomatic passport, electronic diplomatic passport, service passport (including electronic), simple passport (including electronic), temporary passport, military service booklet in the case of military school students.

It is not possible to vote on the basis of travel documents and voter cards are not used.

After this election, the structure of the Romanian legislature will be determined. It consists of the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies. For the 136 seats in the Senate and 330 seats in the Chamber of Deputies, 31 parties and alliances, as well as 19 national minority organizations are vying. The lists include citizens of the Republic of Moldova.
