Moldovan citizens will be able to vote with expired IDs
On June 3, the voters who have their ID papers expired will be admitted to cast their ballots. The Central Electoral Commission has amended in this respect the instructions regarding certain particularities of the election process of the June 3 local general elections.
According to CEC, at present there could be about 108,000 of such electors.
In addition, voters will be able to take part in the elections with the Soviet-type passports, the f9-type ID paper, and the men serving alternative military service will be able to vote using the documents issued by the respective institution.
CEC also introduced a provision according to which the electors that will find themselves in the polling stations at 21.00 will be able to exert their right to vote.
The respective provisions will be also valid for the second round of elections, which will take place on June 17.
A potential of about 2.5 million eligible voters in Moldova are expected to cast their ballots on June 3.
