Moldovan citizens will assume responsibility for voting abroad
The Moldovan voters abroad who will not manage to register beforehand for different reasons will be able to exercise their right to vote by registering at the polling station on the election day. The preliminary registration will be possible only in the countries and towns where the Government will open polling places through the agency of the Foreign Ministry. Those who want can register on www.voteaza.md by a two-stage procedure, Info-Prim Neo reports.
At the first stage, the applicant will make a statement, saying the provided data are true and asking being struck off the main electoral list compiled at the place of residence. At the second stage, the applicant will fill out an application form online. The form contains such personal data as the name, surname and father name of the applicant, the personal code number, the date, month and year of birth, the address or domicile in Moldova.
These data is confidential. The applicant will be able to choose the polling place where to vote.
The preliminary registration period stars 40 days before the election day and ends 25 days before the election day. The electoral office will remove those registered outside the country from the main electoral rolls not later than five days before the election day.
