Moldovan citizens from Lebanon return home

Over 30 Moldovan citizens arrive on Thursday, July 20 from the Lebanon’s conflict zone. According to the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI), 31 Moldovan citizens arrive on Thursday with Istanbul-Chisinau route, and in the evening with Moscow-Chisinau route a Moldovan woman with two children will return from Lebanon. All the evacuated persons benefited of free airfares. Also on Thursday, an airplane of the Ministry of Exceptional Situations of the Russian Federation with Moldovan citizens is expected to arrive. At the same time, another group of 20 Moldovan citizens will be helped to come back home through Istanbul. Recently, Moldovan authorities created an Inter-ministerial Operative Committee for the evacuation of Moldovan citizens from Lebanon, Israel and Gaza. The committee includes heads of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Ministry of Transport and Road Management, Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Informational Development, Civil Aviation and the Service of Border-Guards. The whole world mobilized in order to evacuate thousands of foreign citizens, caught in the middle of a war in Lebanon. According to the statistics this is the biggest mass evacuation operation since World War II.
