Moldovan citizens among the unidentified victims of the Irkutsk airplane crash

Of those 4 foreign citizens killed in the Irkutsk airplane crash, one Moldovan and one Chinese citizen remain unidentified. According to the Russian press, of the total 204 passengers and crew’s members, 13 were foreign citizens, including Germans, Polish, Moldovan, South-Korean and Chinese. The head of the Press Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MFAEI), Dorina Roman, has told Info-Prim Neo that she does not have veridical information about the death of the Moldovan citizen in the airplane crash. According to the quoted source, the person could be a man, married to a Russian citizen, who were living in Moldova and being on the airplane. Dorina Roman declared that she does not know if their child was with them, although previously this information was presented by the press. According to the representative of MFAEI, until the identification procedure will be finished it is hard to say that the Moldovan citizen is among the deceased, also taking into consideration the fact that due to the panic after the catastrophe, several passengers ran away from the place were the accident occurred, and other were hospitalized without identity documents. At the moment 72 fatalities were identified, at the morgue in Irkutsk another 14 victims that must be identified were brought. At the same time, blood samples were taken from 108 relatives of the victims. The airplane accident happened on July 9, 8:00 AM local time (02:00 AM, Chisinau time), in the moment when the airplane Airbus A310, belonging to the air company “Sibir” was landing. The airplane got out of track and hit a concrete wall. The airplane burst into flames after two explosions. Its tanks were containing about a tone of fuel.
