The Moldovan athletes had a good performance at the boxing tournament of the first SportAccord Combat Games 2010 held in Beijing. On the first day of the competition on September 2, Gleb Shapoval won a bronze in the 81kg class, Info-Prim Neo reports. Another representative of Moldova, Vasile Belous won a gold medal in the 69kg class. In the final, he beat China's Maimaitiuersun Giong 6-3. Moldova's team now ranks fifth in the boxing tournament medal standings with two medals. In the general rankings, Moldova takes the 25th position out of 51 countries that won medals. SportAccord Combat Games 2010 brought together 1,108 sportspersons from all over the world. The athletes are competing in 13 Olympic and non-Olympic events.
