The Moldovan beach football team will encounter Poland, Norway and Austria in Group G in the World Cup qualifiers, Info-Prim Neo reports. The matches will take place in Italy during June 11-18. Coach Veaceslav Rusnac called up the following players: Cornel Brumaru, Andrei Matiura, Dorin Coceban, Alexei Muntean, Ian Iacovenco (players of Palestra Chisinau), Denis Coicev, Andrei Negara, Ruslan Istrati, Andrei Mironov, Mihail Cojusea (Lexmax), Ruslan Pernai (from a Belorussian club), Serghei Canter (Real-Succes) and Andrei Ursu (Gratiesti). The coach thinks Moldova can successfully fight for qualification, though only the top stop will allow the team to play in next round. This is Moldova’s first ever participation in an official beach football competition. Their first game was a 3-1 loss against Ukraine. Dorin Coicev scored Moldova’s only goal.
