Moldovan artists’ works exhibited at international arts festival in Sibiu

Works by Moldovan artists were exhibited at the Museum of Contemporary Arts in Romania at the two-week Sibiu International Contemporary Art Festival SCAF. The Republic of Moldova was invited to the fourth edition of the festival that is a notable event in the cultural-diplomatic agenda of Romania and brings together 150 arrests from 22 countries, IPN reports.

In a welcoming message, Moldova’s Minister of Culture Sergiu Prodan says that this year’s edition organized by the Brukenthal National Museum gives a cultural-diplomatic dimension to the event owing to Alexandru Constantin Chituță, acting manager of the Brukenthal National Museum, who is a good friend of the cultural community of the Republic of Moldova.

The minister expressed his conviction that the exhibition staged by Tudor Zbârnea, director of the National Museum of Arts of Moldova, at this edition is one more bridge between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, which will emphasize the creative energy of the contemporary Moldovan artists on the great international arts arena. The Brukenthal National Museum located in the beautiful city Sibiu this way becomes a platform for the exchange of ideas and for dialogue between artists from across the world.

The Sibiu International Contemporary Art Festival SCAF was organized by the Brukenthal National Museum together with the Brukenthal von Studio Association with the assistance of the Ministry of Culture and under the patronage of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The events of the SCAF will be held at the Brukenthal Palace, the Blue House, the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Cultural Habitus Center so that while going to the mounted exhibitions, the visitors also go on a cultural tour of the city.
