Moldovan anesthetists learn to deal with health risks associated with climate change
Some 250 physicians practicing anesthesiology in Moldova are undergoing professional improvement trainings. Held during April 7-9 in Chisinau, the third round of trainings for anesthetists is themed “Health Protection from Climate Change”, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the head of the human resource division of the Ministry of Heath, Oleg Galbur, the training courses are initiated at the request of the anesthetists. The trainings are led by a team of national trainers and eight professors from Romania, Israel and France.
The medical and sanitary establishments in the country cannot afford the expenses to train physicians abroad. Under these circumstances, a solution is to invite globally renowned specialists in order to adopt European standards and learn developed countries’ practices in the field, as well as to upgrade the level of providing medical services to the population, Galbur pointed out.
Sergiu Sandru, the president of the Moldovan Society of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine, among the issues covered by the module is shock therapy, emergency and blood transfusion therapy, and other. The training courses consist of exclusively theoretical conferences, which will allow each trainee to put the acquired theoretical knowledge into practice later, Dr. Sandru remarked.
The courses are organized by the Moldovan Society of Anesthesiology and Intensive Care Medicine, under the aegis of the World Federation of Societies of Anesthesiologists (WFSA), European Society of Anesthesiology (ESA), in partnership with the Moldovan Ministry of Health.
