Moldovan and Romanian children learn from each other
Fifteen children from Moldovan residential institutions and 15 children from Romanian families learned from each other to communicate within the project “Unification of nature and culture through open-air activities in border area”. “The children from Moldova learned to interact, while those from Romania learned to play,” the head of Amici dei Bambini Moldova Stela Vasluian has told Info-Prim Neo.
“We wanted to familiarize the children with the sights of the two countries and to encourage them to become friends by interaction and to spend more time outside. The Moldovan children became much more sociable after several days spent together, while the Romanian children renounced the electronic devices and started to play more with their mates,” said Stela Vasluian.
The children were advised to keep a diary and at the end of the project wrote by an essay about friendship.
One of the objectives of the project was to edit a Guide of Good Practices for Educators, based on the observations of ten grownups who accompanied the children on the trips.
“This brochure contains the results of our project. It thoroughly describes our open-air games that can be used in education. Our partners from Romania were impressed to see that we lay emphasis on educative games. They said they organize additional courses after the lessons and never thought to play with the little ones. Moreover, they admitted it was hard for them to convince the children to stop playing on the computer,” said the association’s head.
The Guide of Good Practices for Educators will be distributed to residential childcare institutions in Moldova. Amici dei Bambini Moldova is ready to help all those who want to apply these games, but do not have the necessary equipment and personnel.
The project was launched in partnership with the Romanian Resource Center for Education and Family “Doxamus” with financial support from EU within the Joint Operational Program Romania-Ukraine-Republic of Moldova 2007-2013.
