The two Moldovan alpinists who were searched for on Mount Ushba were found dead. The searcg mission conducted by the Georgian authorities was completed today with the collection of the bodies that will be transmitted to the relatives.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration said that the Embassy of the Republic of Moldova in Azerbaijan, which also manages the diplomatic relations in Georgia, and the Honorific Consular Office in Batumi will offer the assistance needed to repatriate the bodies to the Republic of Moldova, IPN reports.
The search operation started on September 3. Access to the area in the period was hampered by the unfavorable weather conditions that didn’t allow involving a helicopter, with a terrestrial mission being detached.
