Moldovan accused of murder attempt extradited from Russia

Moldovan national Vitalie Proca, who is accused of wounding a young man in Bucharest in November 2012, was extradited from Russia to Romania on November 18. He was remanded in custody, IPN reports.

According to mediafax.ro, on November 26, 2012 Vitalie Proca wounded a man aged 26 from a Kalashnikov gun on a street in Vitan quarter of Bucharest. He said he confounded him with another person. The victim was rushed to the hospital and was saved.

In January, the Prosecutor’s Office of the Bucharest Tribunal ordered taking legal action against Vitalie Proca for murder attempt and non-observance of the regime of keeping arms and munitions. Proca was caught in Moscow on February 6, based on a mandate issued by the Bucharest Tribunal. He is also wanted by the Scotland Yard for attempting to murder Russian banker German Gorbuntsov, whom he shot six times in London from a semi-automatic gun.
