Moldovagaz threatens to halt gas supplies to Termocom

A number of boiler rooms of SA Termocom might be disconnected from the gas supply the next days. The Chisinau heat supplier was informed about this by Moldovagaz in a letter, Info-Prim Neo reports. The letter says Termocom has debts of 44 million lei for the gas used in November and December and if they are not cleared, the boiler rooms Sud and Vest will be disconnected from the gas supply from December 27, while the suburban towns Vadul lui Voda and Cricova from December 28. Afterward, there will be disconnected the suburban settlements Gratiesti, Ciorescu, Dobruja, Durlesti, Bacioi, Tohatin, Colonita, and Vatra. In Monday’s meeting of the Chisinau City Hall, Termocom director Mihai Cernei said the company does not have debts for gas for October, while the payments for November will be made today. Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca stressed that it is not clear why the gas supplier imposed such payment deadlines. “The bills for December 1-15 will be issued after January 10. Thus, the people will start to pay them after January 10. How can Termocom pay for the consumed gas if the bills have not been yet sent to consumers?” the mayor asked. Dorin Chirtoaca instructed officials of SA Termocom to review the conditions of paying for the services provided by SA Moldova-Gaz in 2011. Termocom has paid for 85% of the consumed gas.
