Moldovagaz starts internal procedure for restricting gas supplies to Termocom and power plants
Moldovagaz has started the internal procedure for curbing natural gas deliveries to Termocom, CET-1 and CET-2 power plants. A team of specialists assesses the limiting level from the technical point of view, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from Moldovagaz's press service, which launched a new warning.
Moldovagaz warns it will downsize the gas supplies to the companies mentioned proportionally to the payment level, till the total halt of supply, to avoid the systematic increase of debts and to exclude the risk of disconnecting all the Moldovan consumers.
The warning refers to the situation in which the Chisinau local authorities do not respect the commitments of a 3-party memo. According to the situation by November 27, 2008, the debts of Termocom, CET-1 and CET-2 were 129.8 million lei, growing daily by 6.3 million lei. These companies’ arrears amount to 1 billion 247.6 million lei, reads the press release.
“Coming to the normal regime of gas deliveries will be possible only if the Chisinau companies pay up for the total running costs,” Moldovagaz says.
According to the the memo signed on November 12 with Termocom and Moldovagaz, the Chisinau Council was to endorse, till November 21, a new heat tariff. The local authorities committed to increase the tariff up to 740 lei per Gcal, but failed to do so.
